Site

I actually built this site back in the early months of August of 2009 after watching episode 59 of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's. I had this tribute planned for quite a while after her first appearance because she quickly became my favourite character within the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise.

Carly was the first female Yu-Gi-Oh! character that had me hoping for the best for her character and will probably be the only one until otherwise noted. When I first watched episode 27 I didn't proclaim her to be my favourite character. No, that spot was well reserved for the series lead character, Yusei. Normally I can barely tolerate characters like Carly, mainly because of their inability to stand on their own two feet without a strong character (like Jack Atlas) to take them by the hand and lead them places. However, that changed when Carly is left behind in Neo Domino while Jack goes off to help save Satellite. She breaks down for a moment, but gets back up on her feet and stands on her own, determined to be strong. She wants to support him and stand by his side rather than be trailing him and becoming a hindrance. Even though she briefly turns against Jack and is determined to be his downfall rather than his strength, Carly remembers that she loves to watch other people succeed because it inspired her to do the same.

While universally loved for her clumsy and outgoing nature, I felt that a tribute was needed.

The name for this site, Cherish comes from the song of the same name by the lovely AZU! When I set out to create this site, I tried finding music that I felt fit with every aspect of her. It's difficult, but in the end I really felt that this one song really fit with who Carly really is and her relationship with Jack.
